Misled by Allen Parr is an approachable Christian theology book that tackles the topic of spiritual deception, along with other ways that growing in biblical discernment can honor God. It is an excellent book to read together as a small group. Below you will find a reading plan and discussion questions for Misled. You can read a full review of this book here.
Group Study Plan
For your first session, each group member should come to group having read the homework for session one. The week before starting the study make sure that everyone has the book, or audiobook.
About the Discussion Questions
There are a lot of suggested questions for this study. You do not need to ask every question in the discussion guide. Choose the ones that are going to spark the best conversation in your group, and skip ones that don’t serve your group.

It seems like more mysterious gifts are rare today. Why do you think that is?

On page 52, Parr talks about how rich people should behave. Do you think these instructions apply to you?
What do you think of the wealthy Christians?
Parr says the rich should enjoy their blessing. What does that mean? Do you agree?
Do you feel like you have satisfactory answers to the questions posed by Parr on page 53?
Are you more prone to expect wealth or health as a result of your faith?
Have you witnessed a miraculous healing?
What should we say to those who are suffering from illness?
