Below is a single session Bible Study on the last half of Matthew 6. In this chapter, Jesus speaks to worry and reminds us of our value. This Bible study is self-contained. There is no homework. You and your group will spend some time in quiet together while you individually read the passage and journal through a few questions. Then you will come back together and discuss Matthew 6 together.

Introduction
Today we are going to read a portion of Matthew that are referred to as The Sermon on the Mount. This was a long sermon thought to be given over several hours, possibly even multiple days. During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus speaks both to his disciples and to a large crowd of people. He talks about a wide range of topics, from how to pray, divorce, pride, worship, and more.
While you are reading, keep a pen and paper close by to write down:
Questions you have about words, actions or people
Things that you think are interesting
Thoughts about how you would have reacted
Connections between other Bible passages you have read before
Journal Prompt:
Take a moment and close your eyes. What do you think about the most? What consumes your thoughts?
➤ Read Matthew 6:19-34
Mini Overview: Matthew is the first book in the New Testament, between Malachi and Mark. Matthew is one of Jesus’ disciples and was particularly interested in capturing Jesus’ sermons. It was written about thirty years after the resurrection.
