Do you have someone in your life that is headed off to college for the first time? Or know a young adult who is taking their first steps into independent life?
About 70% of students(1) who regularly attended church in high school will leave college with little to no faith practice. This is a crucial time in a person’s life, where they are deciding if God is truly a part of their life or not. Which makes it a very important time to be in prayer for the student in your life. Use the prayer prompts below to intentionally pray over this major life transition.
I am the New College Student
If you, yourself, are the new college student, use these prayer prompts to pray over yourself. College can be really hard on your faith life. You are meeting so many new people, learning how to manage daily life, and establishing new routines. What worked for you in high school, might not work in your new environment. Maintaining your prayer life continually invites God into your space. Keep at it, and give yourself grace as you learn how to operate in this new place.
How to Stay in Prayer
Journal it: Flip through your journal and write one of the prayer prompts at the top of random pages in your journal. When you arrive at this page, take a moment to write out a short prayer based on the prompt.

Schedule it: Put reminders in your phone with the prayer prompts scheduled through out the year. Pick a consistent time or allow the Holy Spirit to prompt you to schedule random times.
